Elder Simonson and his constant companion, helping 李念禪 take the final step to receive the Holy Ghost – his new constant companion!

Yay! Our investigator, 李念禪, got baptized yesterday, on Sunday! He’s the one who was a former investigator and has met with missionaries a lot before, but never ended up getting baptized. The missionaries would always contact him during a hard part of his life, so he’d be willing to meet with them, but then things would start to get get better so he’d focus more on work and stop meeting with the missionaries. This last week was really fun! Last Monday, we went with a family from the 天母 ward (my last area) to this place called YingGe, which is a pottery town. We traveled by train to get there, which was fun since I’ve never actually taken the train before here in Taiwan…only the MRT. Continue reading →

Typhoon Megi is coming!

This last week was super fun! We finally got a pretty good sized typhoon that I’ve been waiting for for a while now! Typhoon Megi came near Taiwan Monday night and by Tuesday it started to get really rainy and windy. Monday night we got the text message that we shouldn’t go outside on Tuesday…because of the typhoon we ended up staying inside all day and cleaning the house/calling people/playing games.
